staking is a complex system but on a user-level, it's very simple.
Deposit = you take your pending rewards & deposit the amount you've written in the amount field. Tokens get locked 30 days
Withdraw = you take your pending rewards & the amount you've written in the amount field. You can use that function if the timer is 0
Compound = you move your pending rewards to deposited amount, increasing your rewards during the time (as the allocated amount is bigger). Tokens get locked 5 days
You earn rewards as long you have a deposited amount, if the timer is 0, you still earn tokens
